Dear friends of the 44th ECC, welcome to Rome.
Our city has an archaeological, monumental, cultural and artistic wealth unique in its kind, so much that the city centre has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO and the Coliseum is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. Aside from its historical and cultural worldwide traits, Rome also offers you the opportunity to enjoy these wonders accompained by its acclaimed cuisine.
The city of Rome is pleased to host for the first time in history the 44th edition of the ECC, the main sport event of an important group of professionals: the Air Ttraffic Controllers.
This amateur sport event,which boasts over 40 years of history, deserves to take place in a extraordinarily prized setting.
Rome will offer you the perfect blend of sports, entertainment and nightlife; a combination of elements which embody the philosophy of the tournament.

Our city boasts an archaeological, monumental, cultural and artistic richness unique of its kind so much that the Historic Centre has been declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO and the Coliseum is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Rome is not only an “Open Air Museum”, but much more, and this richness makes our city magical and exciting, a city to be lived and discovered.
I wish for your stay in Rome to be unforgettable and I’m sure that this new sports event, where you all are key players, will be a success. Don’t forget that the Capital is always ready to be your host for future events."
SPORT ASSESSOR'S SPEECH

"The City of Rome is pleased to host for the 1st time the 44th Edition of the ECC which represents the main sports event of an important group of professionals, the Air Traffic Controllers.
In recent years the Capital has managed to win back a prominent role in the international sports scene, hosting prestigious events such as the 2009 World Swimming Championships and entering the running for the organization of other unique occasions such as the 2020 Olympic Games.
Rome City Council has decided to give the same opportunity to all types of sport, actively contributing to the dissemination of the genuine values that all sports embody.
For this reason the ECC represents another opportunity for the international recognition of the city, which will surely contribute to show its beauties and will demonstrate its capabilities and organization.
The council, therefore, greets with affection all those who have chosen to come to our city to play an active role in this magnificent tournament and sincerely wishes good luck to all athletes, team managers, referees and the organizing board. We are certain that the whole Eternal City will embrace this event with enthusiasm."
